The Princes Trust is running a holistic fertility course at Dumfries House in Scotland. The building is part of the Prince’s Foundation estate run by King Charles.
He bought the impressive 2,000-acre property in 2007 for £45million to be used for a range of education and training opportunities and it’s open all year round
The course claims to “recognise the challenges many couples face when trying to conceive” and has led them to establish “a dedicated team of fertility experts, including naturopaths, acupuncturists, and nutritionists”.
The holistic program address’s various aspects that can impact fertility, such as stress, hormonal imbalances, and lifestyle factors.
Weirdly rumours of a fertility course originated in a 2013 article on the website: World News Daily Report.
The article, claimed that King Charles had developed a “revolutionary” new fertility treatment that had helped women conceive.
But the course itself didn’t start until 2019.
Fertility is not an issue Prince Charles himself has suffered from, he certainly didnt have problems conceiving because it didn’t take him long to have Prince William, only one year after his wedding to Lady Diana in 1981, with Prince Harry arriving shortly afterwards.
One to one support from a gynaecologist
The course is impressive because it gives participants one-to-one support from a consultant gynaecologist.
It’s impossible to gauge exactly how many women may have benefitted from it, but rumours claim it could be around forty.
It’s supported by funding from players of the People’s Postcode Lottery and can be joined by anyone. Participants may qualify to receive free or subsidised places. All the profits are reinvested into the Prince’s Trust.
It’s certainly a luxurious place to go. Visitors get to stay at the five star bed and breakfast accommodation at Dumfries House Lodge, where chefs also teach them to cook healthy and high-energy food. But the luxury weekend sadly only caters for 16 people at a time.
A great idea to set it up nationwide
We’ would like to say that it does seems like a great idea to us, but just a shame its currently only based in Scotland.
Maybe the trust could expand it into a national event? There is clearly a need for more holistic support for those struggling with fertility.
We could see the Duchy of Cornwall being another great base. It would certainly help to put Cornwall, cream teas and surfing holidays on the world map!
